Lindsay Cissell is a 12 yr. old
who was born with one hand, but this doesn't stop her from doing anything other girls her age do.
Despite her disability she won the title of Miss. Preteen County this year.
She also won the Miss Congeniality award which was chosen by the other contestants in the pageant.
She will be competing this October for the title of Miss State Preteen. Go Lindsay!
Other than being a beautiful child, Lindsay is very intelligent. She has been
on the honor roll ninety eight percent of her school years. She has also been involved in different
types of sports with softball being her favorite. She has begun learning to fastpitch but she also
likes playing outfield. Lindsay won 4 ribbons in track and field last year in the fifth grade and
she has numerous trophies from basketball and bowling. Swimming and singing are other hobbies she
enjoys.
Entering middle school this year has been very exciting for her. She was
elected to the student council and is anxious to start her responsibilities as a member. Lindsay
also enjoys computers and we are now in the process of deciding what type of one-handed keyboard
she will benefit most from. If you can offer advice please let us know.
Lindsay is truly an inspiration and role model for all children with
disabilities and with her ambition and determination I know she will do well in life.
